Years ago, there was a contest to see what kind of painting could be created that would give a beautiful image of our Sacred Mother Mary but in the image of an Indigenous woman. A young Hopi artist from the Southwest created this picture and won. It is simple, yet breathtaking and fits many of our Indigenous cultures on Turtle Island.
