Multiple

Maȟpíya Lúta wrestler Tony Morales’ dedication and hard work paid off with a strong performance at the Black Hills Conference tournament, where he secured a fourth-place finish—one of his best showings of the season. His steady improvement results from an intense off-season training regimen, focusing on the fundamentals of wrestling and strength and conditioning.

“I feel that it has made me stronger and know what to do in certain wrestling positions,” Morales said of his off-season efforts. His hard work was evident on the mat, where he competed with confidence and determination.

Heading into the tournament, his mindset was simple: “Go on the mat, just wrestle, and have fun.” That approach led to a performance he was proud of, reinforcing his belief in perseverance. “I learned that I never give up no matter how many times I fail,” he reflected.

With the season entering a critical stretch, Morales has his sights set on even bigger goals. “My goal is to not only become the best wrestler I can be but the best person I can be off the mat,” he said. “My main goal is to do good in regions and to go to state and place this year.”

To achieve that, he plans to continue refining his technique and strengthening his mindset. His dedication, resilience, and steady improvement signal that his best wrestling is yet to come.
