This past Friday, 14 students from Maȟpíya Lúta showcased their talent and pride as they competed in a Wačhípi at Wazí Aháŋhaŋ Owáyawa. The event, which brought together young dancers from various schools, highlighted the beauty and skill of the dancers. Of the Maȟpíya Lúta participants, eight placed in their respective categories.

These young dancers continue to represent Maȟpíya Lúta with pride, skill, and a deep connection to their Lakota heritage. Their next opportunity to compete and celebrate their culture will be at the upcoming Wačhípi at Bennett County School on March 14th. This event will also include handgames.
