Maȟpíya Lúta Rolls to 7-0 With Balanced Attack in Second Home Game

The top-ranked Maȟpíya Lúta girls basketball squad continued their undefeated start on Thursday night in their second home game of the season, defeating Custer 75-19. Maȟpíya Lúta showcased depth, defensive pressure, and a roster full of scoring options.

Maȟpíya Lúta controlled the game from the start, forcing turnovers and turning defense into offense. Maȟpíya Lúta had contributions up and down the lineup, with multiple players stepping into big roles on the night.

Defensively, Maȟpíya Lúta swarmed the ball and created havoc. Dottie Mesteth collected five steals and Shania Ferguson added four of her own. Ashlan Carlow-Blount was one of several standouts, finishing with 20 points, eight steals, and seven rebounds.

Offensively, Tahca Zephier delivered her highest output of the season with 11 points, and Layla Janis added a season-high seven points.

With the win, Maȟpíya Lúta improves to 7-0 on the year and will be on the road next, with Maȟpíya Lúta heading to Todd County for a Saturday matchup at 6:00 p.m.
