The Maȟpíya Lúta Middle School boys basketball teams kicked off their season on Thursday, February 6th, with a strong showing at American Horse School. The teams played three exciting matchups, coming away with two victories.
The C team set the tone for the night with a dominant 47-18 victory, showcasing strong defense and efficient scoring. The B team followed up with another impressive performance, securing a 48-37 win behind outstanding offensive efforts. Hoksila led the way with 25 points, while Louden added 23, helping Maȟpíya Lúta pull away for the victory.
The A team faced a tough challenge and battled hard in a 40-60 loss. Hunter led the team with 13 points, and Bryghton added 11 in a strong offensive showing, but it wasn’t enough to overcome American Horse.
Despite the A team’s loss, the season opener displayed the depth and talent of Maȟpíya Lúta’s middle school program. With key performances across all levels, the teams will look to build on this momentum as they continue their schedule in the coming weeks.
