The Maȟpíya Lúta Dance Club had plenty to celebrate as the Tȟéča Wačhípi Okȟólakičhiye 2025-2026 season came to a close at the Bennett County Finals on April 24th.
Dance
Jozyah Weston delivered a standout performance, claiming 1st place and earning the title of Grand Champion in the K-2 Boys Grass category at Bennett County. Blake Pourier also represented Maȟpíya Lúta well, finishing in 3rd place.
Hand Games
In hand games, the high school team had a strong finish to the season, taking 3rd place at the Bennett County Finals and finishing 2nd overall for the season. The team was led by Captain Shyla Iron Cloud and included Maliyah Catches, Steven Ross, Lydiah Red Cloud, Lacey Roan Eagle, Cody Two Bull, Harley Carlow, Lailani Richards, Abella Clifford, Tangerine Weston, Shy Apple, Cassie Richards, and Brighton Crow, all of whom were main contributors throughout the season.
